Cave Dogs Rescue Ethiopia
An amazing rescue of four dogs from the Gido Washa cave in Ethiopia in 2007. The Homeless Animals Protection Society made this possible, along with Dr. Anteneh Roba of The Amsale Gessesse Memorial Foundation and The Pet Palace, Clear Lake, USA. You can read more about the rescue and support HAPS & Amsale on the links below, any help is gratefully received and there are still thousands of stray dogs needing food and shelter in Ethiopia. This is the story of how a small group of caring people made a difference with determination and willpower to save lives.

I am so very grateful that this video was so wonderfully done. Thank you just does not seem to be the word to say how I feel. Other than you and anyone else who helped save these animals, my heart and our God said thankful for your gentle soul and compassion towards one of God’s creatures. Without knowing the whole story, all I can say is that I pray the animals are now safe and warm, sitting on a lap of someone who will truly love him.
BLESS YOU, MY FRIENDS

I am so happy for the dogs!! great story great video!
It is a known fact …
It is a known fact at least in norhern Ethiopia, when a bich gives birth to several pupies, people ask their neibours to take a pupy for free, if no body wants the pupies, the pupies are thrown over a high cliff. The farmers think this is a more humane action than hiting them on the head. It is a sad reality that oftern farmers do not have much to feed even their own children, leave alone providing for unwanted dogs. They do not have the means of desexing the animals. It is a sad reality.

Thank you, Maria, …
Thank you, Maria, for demonstrating the inherent goodness of these courageous souls who overcame many obstacles to rescue the cave dogs.
As a society, the Ethiopian people suffer many injustices; I am leveled by this expression of compassion for animals.
It is because we have respect for animals, that we do not treat our fellow man with contempt.
Again, Maria, thank you for singing this beautiful story into my heart. I promise, you have done me a world of good!

A very touching video, Maria!
You know that I perfectly know what this video shows us since I spent lots of time in Ethiopia. Yes, these dogs need our help and I’m very, very sad that I won’t be able to go back to Ethiopia due to my present health situation which cost me my license and my job. I often think about my dog-friend in Addis Ababa, a cute little rascal without a name. She lived in the area around the Hilton Hotel and I often spent time with her and brought her some food. Dieter
