Top Ten Pomeranian Rescue MistakesDon't rescue or adopt a Pomeranian until you read these top ten mistakes made with Pomeranian rescue!Pomeranian rescue is something that can produce a very loving pet and a wonderful addition to your family. However, before you decide that this if good for your family and a good move for you, make sure that you have considered the following mistakes that most people make when then look at rescue dogs for a pet. If some of these happen, the life of the dog can be traumatized or ruined, and so can the lives of the people adopting the dog. Make sure that this doesn’t happen to you. Top Ten MistakesThe number one mistake in a Pomeranian rescue dog is to pick only on appearance. When people go to a shelter, they might be tempted to pick a dog based on the way the dog looks. This is a huge mistake because the dog needs to also be chosen because of their temperament. You need to examine the needs of yourself and your family and see what things a dog needs to be good at or comfortable with in order to fit into your life – such as other animals, loud noises or children. Always be sure to pick a dog based on those things and not how the dog looks. The number two mistake is to think that the history given to you by the shelter is all there is to know about that particular dog. Remember that there always going to be things that the shelter doesn’t know, that the original owners did tell them, or even that they the shelter does know but for some reason doesn’t tell you. Make sure you keep this in mind when you bring your Pomeranian rescue dog home, and make sure that you remember to ask as many questions about the particular Pomeranian you are adopting as possible.
The number three mistake is assuming the dog you are taking home has, up until now, had a good life. It is the unfortunate occurrence with most of the Pomeranian rescue dogs to have not had a good life. Either then have been abused, neglected, or simply not wanted. All of these can have an impact on the dog’s personality, so be sure that you know this, and know that there might be things about the dog that will surprise you. The number four mistake is assuming that the people who used to own the dog actually trained the dog. Even if you are rescuing a dog that is several years old, you might need to actually potty train him from scratch, as well as obedience train him from the very start. Your Pomeranian rescue dog does not want to displease you, but he might not know much. The number five mistake is thinking that no one ever abused your Pomeranian. No matter what the shelter says, you just don’t know. You should always observe him carefully. The number six mistake is to give up easily on your new pet, thinking that he cannot be trained because he is too old. Even an older Pomeranian rescue dog can be trained to do many things. It just might take a little bit longer to do. The number seven mistake that is often made is to believe that just because you adopted a dog, you must keep him forever. If you are rescuing a Pomeranian, and you bring one home that doesn’t match with your home, it is probably better that the dog is given back to the shelter to see if he can be given to a better home. The number eight mistake is to believe he will be good with kids, and the number nine mistake is to think that you can leave the dog alone right after you have adopted it. The tenth and last mistake that people make about a Pomeranian
rescue is to believe they shouldn’t do it because it is not worth
their time. Know what
to expect from a Pomeranian rescue dog but know that it will
always be worth the time, and for that one little dog, it makes
all the difference in the world. Attention: To discover how YOU can have the Happiest, Healthiest and Best Behaved Pomeranian, get a copy of this Pomeranian Guide NOW!
