    Using Dog Training Collars

Nowadays, training collars are a necessity for teaching dogs to behave, specially for occasions where visitors are involved. As we all know, dog behavior needs to be at its best because there are laws that prohibit loud and long barking dogs, as well as neighbors that don't appreciate them either. Dogs just follow their natural instincts, of course, and it takes some training to make it behave and keep itself and its owner out of danger and trouble. The need for training collars is high and there are plenty of different options to choose from.

    Choker Training Collars

Some people consider chokers to be the more humane dog training collars. They help when the dog pulls too hard on the leash and helps to correct other bad behavior too. These collars are mostly used for walking the dog, specially when they are small or young and they haven't learned yet how to behave with other people or dogs. Dogs slowly realize that jumping at people and things will give them a very annoying choking sensation. For dogs that are too stubborn, or that have with very thick skins, there are some choking collars that feature some soft protuberances that increase the feeling. These types of collars also stop any sensation to the dog as soon as this one relaxes.

    Electronic Collars

These types of training collars emit a short shock which surprises the dog when it barks. These collars look very similar to regular collars, but they have a small gadget located next to the dog's throat. These collars are not cruel, since it's not an electic shock, like the ones seen in cartoons, but a static feeling, similar to the one we get when we walk on carpets. These collars are very practical and effective as long as the training is constant and supervised closely by the owner; just remember to take the collar off when training is over so that the dog can rest.

In these days, training collars are more of a necessity than a luxury. The main reason of it is that laws today hold dog owners accountable for the behavior of their pets. Therefore, dog training collars keep both the dogs and their masters out of trouble.
