A respondable dog owner has to consider how to take good care of it. Basic safety tools include a leash and an identification collar, but you might want to consider fencing as well. One form of fence that should be considered is invisible fencing. This way, your dog can learn to stay within the boundary of your yard so that you will not need to worry about your dog running away or being harmed. Here we present some facts about invisible fences which we hope that will help you evaluate if it's a good option for you and your pet.
How it Works
Invisible fences work with radio signals as opposed to physical obstacles. These radio signals or waves can be perceived by a collar that the dog has to wear. The collar can then use these signals to detect if the dog comes too close to the invisible fence, in which case it will emit a warning tone. If the dog continues, they will then be shocked. Of course, the shock isn't intense enough that it will actually harm your dog. Instead, invisible fencing emits something similar to a static-type shock.
Good Looking, Yet Safe
People who invest in invisible fences do so because they want to protect their dog, but also because real physical fences may be inconvenient for their properties. There is more than one reason for this. Sometimes this may be because of aesthetic reasons; they find traditional fences ugly. Sometimes it may be because their landlord or community prohibits traditional fences. However, invisible fencing is just as effective in keeping dogs from going too far from their owners' house and specially away from cars. In this way you can keep your dog in the open where it can run without the constrain of a leash, yet safe from cars and other street hazards. An invisible fence can keep your house the same while at the same time protect your dog. That's the reason why their demand has increased lately.
